Mejía sweeps PRD nomination `contest'
With the assistance of the JCE, the central electoral board, President Hipólito Mejía has become the only presidential candidate of the ruling Partido Revolucionario Democrático (PRD) to have been elected by party members. Earlier primaries that picked party leader Hatuey Decamps were disallowed by the JCE.
